Reported to have died April 20, 1864.  David was born at Hingham, Mass. December 21, 1820; died at Stoughton, Mass. April 20, 1864, aged 43 yrs. 4 mos. 7 dys. He is buried at the Maplewood Cemetery in North Stoughton [Gravestone Inscription: David A. Beal, / Died / Apr. 28, 1864 , / aged 43 yrs. / He was a member of / Co. E., 35th Mass. Regt. / Strangers this is a soldiers grave / And simple and short his story, / He fell at the battle among the brave, / Though he died in the ranks of glory (Stone cutter) WM. A. Loring Reed Brackett, born at Canton, Mass. Nov. 21, 1832; died at Middletown, Md. Nov. 10, 1862, aged 29 yrs. 11 mos. 19 dys, wounded at Antietam, died in hospital, body brought home by his brother. He is buried at the Maplewood Cemetery in North Stoughton. [Gravestone Inscription: LORING R. BRACKETT / of Co. E 35th / Regt. Mass. JOSEPH VALENTINE SLOAN

(c.1840-1862)

Aug. 19, 1862; wounded Sept. 17, 1862, Antietam, Md.; died of wounds, Oct. 6, 1862, Keedysville, Md.  Joseph Valentine Sloan, born at Canton, Mass. Feb. 14, 1838; died at Keedysville, Md. Oct. 6, 1862, aged 24 yrs. 7 mos. 22 dys.  His memorial stone in Maplewood Cemetery is only a memorial. His remains are interred at the Antietam National Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Md., Grave No. 968. [Inscription on stone in Stoughton: Joseph Slone, / Co. F. 35 Regt. Mass. Inft. / Died Oct. 5, 1862 / Aged 22 years (On another side of the monument): Comrade].
