Last Will and Testament of
Hannah Adams (written in 1843)
Be it remembered that I Hannah Adams of Stoughton in the County of Norfolk and Commonwealth of Massachusetts Single woman considering the uncertainty of human life and being of sound and perfect mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say).
First, I give to my Sister Mary Atherton (should she survive me) one silver spoon with my initials marked on the same, should she not survive me give it to my nephew Jedidiah Adams.
Item, I give to my Nephew’s Jedidiah Adams, Edward R. Adams, and Quincy Adams three silver spoons each.
Item, I give to my grand Niece Martha M. Adams two silver spoons and my god ring which I now wear.
Item, I give to my nephew’s Jedidiah, Edward R. and Quincy Adams all the rest of my estate and effects whatsoever and appoint Jedidiah Adams Executor of this my last will and testament.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hands and seal this fourteenth day of June one thousand eight hundred forty three.
