This site is fascinating! Between stories of old crimes, locations, and people, it is easy to spend hours here. Please stop making it so interesting, so I can get back and do my work.

Thanks!

Your website was forwarded to me by an associate. It is great! I will certainly forward the address to friends of mine that also grew up in Stoughton. I moved there in 1954 and I do remember the Drake School. I attended elementary school at the Clapp, Kimball and the E.A. Jones. I was in the 8th grade and part of the first class at the then new Junior High. A major addition was added to the high school during my time there. This is a fascinating site and thank you for putting it together. Perhaps at some point you could add information about Stoughton's many links with the famous Brink's robbery?

I lived in Stoughton from 1966 to 1967. I attended 1st grade at Chemung Hill school. I used to love riding in the Toboggan with my family at Chemung Hill and also, in the summer, on flattened cardboard boxes. I lived within walking distance of the school, not far from a pond that I first learned to fish for Sunfish. I remember walking in the leaves everyday towards Chemung Hill to school. Those were the days for sure...
Question: Anyone know if there is a site of archives for teachers of 1st grade in 1966 at Chemung?

Ken

An outstanding resource for researching my family geneology of the Stoughton's. I was able to link my Stoughton ancestors back to Edwin DeStockton of England.

Thank you for this wonderful site@

Hello, You have a wonderful site with great amounts of information! Thank you! Last year your president helped me find out more about our 5th great grandfather, Ebenezer Stearns. Ebenezer was a son of one of the early families, Isaac and Elizabeth (Stone) Stearns, and was a Baptist minister, reportedly in Stoughton, and definitely in Easton. I am trying to find out more about his wife, Thankful Clapp, born in Walpole in 1716, but I'd especially like to find where she is buried. She died in 1761, unknown where. Ebenezer moved to Maine and died there after 1790. Keep up the interesting work!

Your site is outstanding. Thank you very much. Do you happen to have any more on Sacco and Vanzetti/links to Stoughton? Also- The old house list (1824) you provide on the site was used as a basis for a project for my 6 year old son and I. We spent consecutive weekends walking/driving to each address and check them off the list as we found them. He is always looking for historical houses now where ever we go and he is beginning to get his friends into it too! Good job!
